Coming Soon To Chicago: A Little More Country!
Less than a month ago I was just a simple Minnesota girl that loved listening to country music while sitting on the tailgate of Ryan's truck, sitting at the local bars with my friends, sitting around a bonfire or just hanging out at friends houses. In a blink of an eye I find myself putting my two weeks in at work, packing up all my things, saying goodbye to family/friends and moving to Chicago to be with my amazing boyfriend. When you think of Chicago your first thought isn't exactly going to be country music but I am hoping I am able to change that just a little bit! I haven't figured out how I am going to accomplish this yet but I will have a lot of time on my hands so Chicago better watch out! :) My heart will always be in Minnesota so don't worry I will still post a ton of good information about Minnesota country concerts! I know there will be many times when I miss my friends and family but I know if I turn on some great country songs it will make me feel a lot better and a lot closer to them. To my family, friends and co-workers, I love you all! "I will count the days and the miles back home to you..."

Is Toby Keith Coming To Minnesota?
Back in April I wrote a post about Toby Keith's Tour making a stop in Minnesota. A few months ago on his website their was a schedule date for Toby Keith to perform in Minnesota on July 16th but that date is no longer on his website. Has anyone heard if Toby Keith is no longer coming to Minnesota and the reason behind it or has he just changed the date? I am a little confused about the whole thing and am just looking for some answers :) Thank you for your help!

Jerrod Niemann's New Single "Lover, Lover"
A few weeks ago my roommate came home and told me about a new country song that she absolutely love and she introduced me to one of my new favorite country songs "Lover, Lover" by Jerrod Niemann. Jerrod Neimann has been releasing songs since 2006 but this was his first top 10 single. Not only does Jerrod Neimann sing he also writes songs for very famous country artist like Jamey Johnson, Neal McCoy, Julie Roberts and wrote Garth Brooks hit single "Good Ride Cowboy." Jerrod Niemann has such a great voice and this song has such a good rhythm and fun lyrics to sing along with I am not surprised at all that it is a top 10 hit. If you haven't heard it yet I highly suggest taking a few minutes to listen to it because I am sure you will love it too!
"Lover, Lover"
Well the truth, well it hurts to say
I'm gonna pack up my bags and I'm gonna go away
I'm gonna split, I can't stand it
I'm gonna give it up and quit and aint never coming back
Girl but before I get to going, I've got to say,
I know you used to love me but that was yesterday,
And the truth, I won't fight it,
When the love starts burning you got to do what's right.
Woh-oh lover, lover lover, you don't treat me no good no more,
Woh-oh lover, lover lover, you don't treat me no good no more,
Well the truth, yeah it hurts to say,
I'm gonna pack up my bags and I'm gonna go away,
I'm gonna split, I can't stand it,
I'm gonna give it up and quit, ain't never coming back
Girl but before I get to going, I've got to say,
There was a time, oh woman, when you used to shake it for me,
but now, all you do is just treat me cold,
Ain't gonna take it no more, gonna walk out the door,
Lover, lover lover, you don't treat me no good no more,
No good no more more more more
Lover, lover lover you don't treat me good no more,
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
Well I'd wait up for you almost every night
and I'm hurting so bad cause you don't treat me right
Oh woman, oh woman you know I love you so
but you're so mean to me baby, I'm walking out the door,
Oh lover, oh lover, yeah-yeah
No good no more more more more
I know you used to love me in every way
but now im giving it up, and I'm tired of crying babe
I can't stand it no longer, it hurts me to say,
but I'm packing up my bags and going far away,
Hey lover, oh lover yeah-yeah
Lover, lover lover, you dont treat me no good no more
Lover, lover lover, you dont treat me no good no more

Kellie Pickler in Concert!
Kellie Pickler will be playing at the Jackpot Junction Casino in Minnesota on July 9, 2010! Kellie Pickler got her start on American Idol just like many other country stars including Carrie Underwood, Josh Gracin and Bucky Covington. I have always like Kellie Pickler as a country artist and as a person. She had a very rough life growing up with both parents being in and out of jail and having to be raised by her grandparents. Even after growing up in that environment she seems like such a fun, happy and light-hearted person who likes to have a good time no matter what she is doing. Kellie Pickler's first single was "Red High Heels" which reached #15 on the country charts. Kellie Pickler continues to release amazing singles like "I Wonder," "Things That Never Cross A Man's Mind," "Don't You Know You're Beautiful," "Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You" and my Personal favorite "Best Days Of Your Life." Kellie Pickler has opened for huge country artist including Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift but is now headlining her own tour. Kellie Pickler tickets are still available and I think this would be a very fun show to go see!!!

Josh Turner at Mystic Lake Casino in Minnesota
Josh Turner will be performing in Minnesota at the Mystic Lake Casino on August 19th, 2010! I have always liked Josh Turner because of his unique/distinctive voice! Josh Turner released his first single "Long Black Train" in 2003 and it spent more than 40 weeks on the Billboard country charts. Josh Turner has released many great singles since then including: "Your Man," "Would You Go With Me," "Firecracker," "Another Try" which he recorded with Trish Yearwood and his newest single "Why Don't We Just Dance." I am so glad that Josh Turner is performing at Mystic Lake Casino because it is such a great venue to watch country artist in. It is a pretty small venue so no matter where you sit you are close to the performer. I have never seen Josh Turner in concert before so I don't know what to expect but I have no doubt that it will be great! Josh Turner tickets are still available for his performance at Mystic Lake Casino. If you have had the chance to see Josh Turner in Concert please leave a comment and let me know what you thought of him.

Tim McGraw at the Minnesota State Fair!
I was beyond excited when I found out that Tim McGraw will be playing at the Minnesota State Fair on August 28, 2010!!! I have been a huge fan of Tim McGraw since "Indian Outlaw" and have not had the opportunity yet to see him in concert. Tim McGraw has been everywhere lately because of his staring role in The Blind Side and his chart toping new album Southern Voice. I have loved every movie that Tim McGraw has been in including Friday Night Lights, Flicka and Four Christmases. But, I first fell in love with Tim McGraw because of his music. Some of my favorite Tim McGraw songs are: "Don't Take the Girl," "I Like It, I Love It," "She Never Lets It Go To Her Heart," "It's Your Love," "Where The Green Grass Grows," "Just To See You Smile," "My Best Friend," "Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me," "Live Like You Were Dying," "Over & Over," "If Your Reading This" and "Southern Voice." I can't wait to hear all of these songs live!!! Opening for Tim Mcgraw is Julianne Hough who most people know from Dancing With the Stars. Julianne Hough is also a new country singer whose most popular single is "That Song in My Head." Tim Mcgraw tickets will be going on-sale next week and I will keep everyone updated on when and how you can get them!
"Southern Voice"
Hank Williams sang it
Number 3 drove it
Chuck Berry twanged it
Will Falkner wrote it
Aretha Franklin sold it
Dolly Parton graced it
Rosa Parks rode it
Scarlett O chased it
Smooth as the hickory wind
That blows from Memphis
Down to Appalachicola
It's hi ya'll did ya eat well
Come on in I'm
Sure glad to know ya
Don't let this old gold cross
In this Allman Brothers t-shirt throw ya
It's cicadas making noise
With a southern voice
Hank Aaron smacked it
Michael Jordan dunked it
Pocahantas tracked it
Jack Daniels drunk it
Tom Petty rocked it
Dr. King paved it
Bear Bryant won it
Billy Graham saved it
Smooth as the hickory wind
That blows from Memphis
Down to Appalachicola
It's hi ya'll did ya eat well
Come on in I'm
Sure glad to know ya
Don't let this old gold cross
In this Crimson Tide t-shirt throw ya
It's cicadas making noise
With a southern voice
Jesus is my friend
America is my home
Sweet iced tea and Jerry Lee
Daytona Beach
That's what gets to me
I can feel it in my bones
Smooth as the hickory wind
That blows from Memphis
Down to Appalachicola
It's hi ya'll did ya eat well
Come on in child
I'm sure glad to know ya
Don't let this old gold cross
In this Charlie Daniels t-shirt throw ya
We're just boys making noise
With a southern voice
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Southern Voice
I got a southern voice
A southern voice

New Lee Brice CD Love Like Crazy!
I recently bought the new Lee Brice CD and I absolutely love it! Most of you probably know Lee Brice because of his hit single "Love Like Crazy." I bet a lot of people don't know that Lee Brice has also wrote many songs for other country stars including Garth Brooks comeback single "More Than a Memory" and Tim McGraw's hit single "Still." There is a song for everyone on his new CD! If you are looking for a song to listen to while drinking beers with buddies around a bonfire there is "Sumter County Friday Night." If you are looking for a great love song there "Love Like Crazy." For those of you (like me) who enjoy a sad song every now and then there is "Happy Endings." My favorite songs on the CD that have become some of my all-time favorite country songs are "Power of a Woman" and "These Last Few Days." I am making a prediction that Lee Brice's song "These Last Few Days" will become a huge #1 single! I promise you will not be disappointed if you buy this CD or download these great songs on your Ipod! If you have listened to Lee Brice's new CD Love Like Crazy let me know what you think of it and what songs you love!
"Love Like Crazy"
They called him crazy when they started out
Said seventeen's too young to know what loves about
They've been together fifty-eight years now
That’s crazy
He brought home sixty-seven bucks a week
He bought a little 2 bedroom house on Maple Street
Where she blessed him with six more mouths to feed
Yeah that’s crazy
Just ask him how he did it; he'll say pull up a seat
It'll only take a minute, to tell you everything
Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I love you
Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy
They called him crazy when he quit his job
Said them home computers, boy they'll never take off
He sold his one man shop to Microsoft
They paid like crazy
Just ask him how he made it
He'll tell you faith and sweat
And the heart of a faithful woman,
Who never let him forget
Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I love you
Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin knees get lazy
And love like crazy
Always treat your woman like a lady
Never get too old to call her baby
Never let your prayin knees get lazy
And love like crazy
They called him crazy when they started out
They've been together fifty-eight years now
Ain't that crazy?
"These Last Few Days"
These last few days
What can I say
You've had me thinkin' in circles
In crazy not like me ways
My favorite thing
Lately has been waking up with you
Talkin ourselves to sleep again
Baby come a little closer
Let me lay some nibble kisses on your shoulder
You said that's your favorite place
Baby maybe we could borrow
Find a way to bag and
Steal a few tomorrows and stay
Here in these last few days
These last few days
Have blown me away
The thought of letting go,
And falling
Is actually feeling okay
I must confess
I need some rest
But with every touch
I swear the better it seems to get
Baby come a little closer
Let me lay some nibble kisses on your shoulder
You said that your favorite place
Baby maybe we could borrow
Find a way to bag and
Steal a few tomorrows and stay
Here in these last few days
I aint lookin for love
But whatever this is
I can't get enough
Baby come a little closer
Let me lay some nibble kisses on your shoulder
You said that your favorite place
Baby maybe we could borrow
Find a way to bag and
Steal a few tomorrows and stay
Here in the last few days

Mary Chapin Carpenter in Minnesota
Mary Chapin Carpenter will be performing at the Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater on July 7th! I didn't recognize her name right away but after I did a little research I realized that I love a bunch of the songs she sings. Mary Chapin Carpenter first released a country cd in 1990 and has had many hit singles since then. Some of her hit singles that were all top 10 are: "Never Had It So Good," "Quttin' Time," "Down at the Twist and Shout," "I Feel Lucky," "Passionate Kisses," "He Thinks He'll Keep her," "I Take My Chances," "Shut Up and Kiss Me" and "Tender When I Want To Be." Mary Chapin Carpenter tickets are still available if you want to hear her sing any of these great songs live in person!

Jewel in concert and backstage
Last night I got the chance to not only see Jewel in concert but I also got to go backstage and meet her and watch a private performance. The private performance was amazing! First my friend Anna and I got to take a picture with her, she answered a few questions and then she sang a song just a few feet away from me that she just recently wrote. My friend Anna asked Jewel why she switched to country music and Jewel explained that she always thought her music belonged on country stations because she likes writing meaningful songs but with her first label they wouldn't let her music play on country stations. I'm really glad that Anna asked that question because most of you know that I don't always like artist that switch over to country but after that explanation I completely understood her and no longer consider her a cross over artist. Jewel has such an amazing voice and is a very talented song writer. During her concert she sang a song called "Count to Ten" that will be on her new album and I am predicting that it will be a #1 single on the country stations. I had such an amazing time from start to finish. I was able to do all of this because of the people at Country Financial. They are sponsors for Jewel and Jason Aldean and I was lucky enough to be picked to become a blogger for them. You should check out their website tripsandpicks.com because you can see a lot of fun pictures and videos and sign up to win contest. Thanks to everyone at Country Financial and especially Jay!

Brooks & Dunn and Jason Aldean Concert in MN!!!
I can't believe Brooks & Dunn and Jason Aldean will be in Minnesota at the Xcel Energy Center in just a few days!!! I have been waiting a very very long time to get the chance to see Jason Aldean. I saw Jason Aldean at the Minnesota State Fair last summer and it was by far the best country concert I have ever seen. I was recently selected to become an official blogger for Road Trips and Guitar Picks which is sponsors for Jason Aldean and Jewel. Thanks to Road Trips and Guitar Picks I get the chance to see Jason Aldean and get backstage passes to meet Jewel. They have a very cool website, www.tripsandpicks.com, that has many pictures of fans and the artists and a lot of great articles about the artist so everyone should check it out! I am also very excited to see Brooks & Dunn for the first time which is ironically the last time they will be touring together. The song I am most excited to hear is one of their newest songs "Indian Summer!" If anyone has seen Brooks & Dunn in concert before please let me know what you thought of the experience.
Indian Summer
tall weeds laid flat down
on the hard black kansas ground
sad song in her head kept blowin round
she barely even knew his name
but she like the way he played the game
everybody cheered when he scored that last touchdown
indian summer,
the wonder,
the hunger,
and the sound of distant thunder,
indian summer
tangled in a moment of truth
bottle of wine in a motel room
blue haze circled round the cold gray moon
while the wind chased the leaves outside
passion found a place to hide
late september heat couldnt be denied
oh indian summer,
the wonder,
the hunger,
and the sound of distant thunder,
indian summer
she never even finished school
people like to talk, they can be so cruel
heard california was a place to start brand new
so she left that dust bowl town
sometimes when a long wind howls
i wonder where we'd be if i never scored that last touchdown
summer,
the wonder,
the hunger,
and the sound of distant thunder
indian summer
whoooooaaaaaaaaaaa

Carrie Underwood Performing at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand!
I found out this morning that Carrie Underwood will be performing at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand this year thanks to my friend/fellow country girl Jamie! Last week I was thinking about how I would LOVE to see Carrie Underwood in concert. I checked her website and was not able to find any Minnesota dates. So, I was so excited this morning when I got the text that Carrie Underwood would be coming to the Minnesota State Fair! I have loved Carrie Underwood since I first saw her on American Idol and have been a huge fan ever since. I love all of her songs but my favorites would have to be: "Jesus, Take the Wheel," "Don't Forget to Remember Me," "Before He Cheats," "All-American Girl," "So Small," "Just a Dream," "Last Name," "I Told You So," "Cowboy Casanova" and "Temporary Home." Carrie Underwood's newest album Play On debuted at #1 on the music charts. Carrie Underwood tickets go on-sale on Saturday May 8th. Zac Brown Band Concert in Minnesota
I was so excited to find out that Zac Brown Band will be coming back to Minnesota! Zac Brown Band will be performing at Mystic Lake on June 20, 2010. I am a huge fan of the Zac Brown Band! The last time I saw them in concert is when they opened for Keith Urban at the Xcel Energy Center. Zac Brown Band are such great performers and have so much energy any time they play live. I am completely in love with their newest single "Highway 20 Ride." Other songs of theirs I am excited to hear are "Chicken Fried," "Whatever It Is," "Toes" and their rendition of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." If you haven't had a chance to see Zac Brown Band in concert yet I highly suggest you get tickets for this concert because you will not be disappointed! There are still Zac Brown Band tickets available but I wouldn't wait to long to get your tickets.
"Highway 20 Ride"
I ride east every other Friday but if i had it my way
The day would not be wasted on this drive
And i want so bad to hold you
Son there's things I haven't told you
Your mom and me couldn't get along
So i'll drive
And I think about my life
And wonder why, That I slowly die inside
Everytime I turn that truck around, right at the Georgia line and i count the days and the miles back home to you on that Highway 20 ride
A day might come and you'll realize that if you could see through my eyes
There was no other way to work it out
And a part of you might hate me
But son please don't mistake me For a man that didnt care at all
And i'll drive
And I'll think about my life
And wonder why, That I slowly die inside
Everytime I turn that truck around, right at the Georgia line and i count the days and the miles back home to you on that Highway 20 ride
So when you drive
And the years go flying by
I hope you smile
If i ever cross your mind
It was a pleasure of my life
And i cherished every time
And my whole world
It begins and ends with you
On that Highway 20 ride....

Toby Keith Coming to Minnesota!
I was searching for country artist that will be performing in Minnesota sometime soon and I was extremely surprised when I saw that Toby Keith will be coming to Minnesota this summer! I have not always been the biggest Toby Keith fan and there was a point in time when I couldn't even stand listening to his music. I got really upset when he started a huge public fight with the Dixie Chicks because they didn't have the same opinion about George Bush. I loved the Dixie Chicks and because of Toby Keith's actions/hatred towards them a lot of people turned against the Dixie Chicks and the pretty much had to disappear for many years. But, in the last few years Toby Keith has won me over with his great music. Some of my favorite Toby Keith songs are: "American Ride," "God Love Her," "She Never Cried in Front of Me," "Love Me if You Can," "Whiskey Girl," "American Soldier" and his newest song "Cryin' for Me (Wayman's Song)." I am very excited that I will finally be able to see Toby Keith perform all of these songs and many more live in concert. The venue or when Toby Keith tickets go on-sale hasn't been released yet but I do know that Toby Keith will be performing in Minnesota on July 16, 2010. Many other Toby Keith tickets are available for purchase right now and I will let you know when Toby Keith tickets will go on-sale for Minnesota!
"Cryin' for Me (Wayman's Song)"
“Sorry you missed me
I’ll get back with you as soon as I can
Thank you and god bless”
Got the news on Friday mornin’
But a tear I couldn’t find
You showed me how I’m supposed to live
And now you showed me how to die
I was lost till Sunday mornin’
I woke up to face my fear
While I’m writing you this goodbye song
I found a tear
I’m gonna miss that smile
I’m gonna miss you my friend
Even though it hurts the way it ended up
I’d do it all again
So play it sweet in heaven
‘Cause that’s right where you wanna be
I’m not crying 'cause I feel so sorry for you
I’m crying for me
I got up and dialed your number
And your voice came on the line
That old familiar message
I heard a thousand times it just said
Sorry that I missed you
Leave a message and god bless
I know you think I’m crazy
But I had to hear your voice again
I’m gonna miss that smile
I’m gonna miss you my friend
Even though it hurts the way it ended up
I’d do it all again
So play it sweet in heaven
‘Cause that’s right where you wanna be
I’m not crying 'cause I feel so sorry for you
I’m crying for me
So play your upside-down, left handed
Backwards bass guitar
And I’ll see you on the other side
Superstar
I’m gonna miss that smile
I’m gonna miss you my friend
Even though it hurts the way it ended up
I’d do it all again
So play it sweet in heaven
‘Cause that’s right where you wanna be
I’m not crying 'cause I feel so sorry for you
I’m crying for me
I’m still crying
I’m crying for me
I’m still crying

Miranda Lambert Concert in Minnesota!
Miranda Lambert is coming back to Minnesota but this time she is headlining her own concert! Miranda Lambert will be performing at the Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato, MN on May 7th. Opening for Miranda Lambert is country star Chris Young! Chris Young recently had a #1 hit with "Gettin' You Home (The Black Dress Song)." His newest single "The Man I Want To Be" is also a very big hit. I have written many blogs about Miranda Lambert and my love for her and her music so I won't go on and on like I usual do. I just want to mention that she has released another amazing single on March 8th called "The House That Built Me." If you haven't heard it yet I highly suggest you download it ASAP. Miranda Lambert and Chris Young tickets will sell out fast so don't wait to buy some.
"The House That Built Me"
I know they say you cant go home again.
I just had to come back one last time.
Ma?am I know you don't know me from Adam.
But these handprints on the front steps are mine.
And up those stairs, in that little back bedroom
is where I did my homework and I learned to play guitar.
And I bet you didn?t know under that live oak
my favorite dog is buried in the yard.
I thought if I could touch this place or feel it
this brokenness inside me might start healing.
Out here its like i'm someone else,
I thought that maybe I could find myself
if I could just come in I swear i'll leave.
Won?t take nothing but a memory
from the house that built me.
Mama cut out pictures of houses for years.
From ?Better Homes and Garden? magazines.
Plans were drawn, concrete poured,
and nail by nail and board by board
Daddy gave life to mama?s dream.
I thought if I could touch this place or feel it
this brokenness inside me might start healing.
Out here its like i'm someone else,
I thought that maybe I could find myself.
If I could just come in I swear i'll leave.
Won?t take nothing but a memory
from the house that built me.
You leave home, you move on and you do the best you can.
I got lost in this whole world and forgot who I am.
I thought if I could touch this place or feel it
this brokenness inside me might start healing.
Out here its like i'm someone else,
I thought that maybe I could find myself.
If I could walk around I swear i'll leave.
Won?t take nothing but a memory
from the house that built me.

Brooks & Dunn The Last Rodeo and Jason Aldean Concert Tickets On Sale!
Since the day I found out that Brooks & Dunn Last Rodeo Tour was making a stop at the Xcel Energy Center I have been patiently waiting for the tickets to go on-sale. When I found out that Jason Aldean was going to open for Brooks & Dunn I got even more excited and checked his website everyday to see when I could buy tickets. The day is finally here and I couldn't be more excited that I have tickets to see this amazing concert! Brooks & Dunn have been together since 1991 when they released their first album which went 6x Platinum. Brooks & Dunn are the most successful duo from any genre! Country Concerts at The Rock in Minnesota
I was looking around to see which country artist would be performing in Minnesota in the next couple months and a lot of them had one thing in common....most of the country artist coming to Minnesota will be performing at The Rock Nightclub. I just wrote a blog about Jimmy Wayne coming to The Rock on March 6 and there will be many great country artist following him. LoCash Cowboys will be performing there on March 18th. LoCash Cowboys are up-and-coming artist who already have thousands and thousands of fans. Before LoCash Cowboys were signed to a record label they toured with Charlie Daniels and ZZ Top. LoCash Cowboys became very popular by just playing at different bars and made a large name for themselves. This is a concert I would not miss! James Otto will be performing at The Rock on April 9th. In 2007, James Otto released his #1 single "Just Got Started Lovin' You." James Otto has an amazing voice and a lot of great song that never became very popular but I would highly recommend listening to his cd and then go to his show. Justin Moore will be performing at The Rock on April 30th. Justin Moore released his first album on August 11, 2009. On that album are two of my new favorite country songs "Small Town USA" and "Backwoods." Finally, the artist I am most excited to see perform at The Rock is Josh Gracin. Josh Gracin was on the second season of American Idol. After he left American Idol, Josh Gracin became a very popular country artist. Josh Gracin came out with great singles like "I Want to Live," "Nothin' to Loose," "Stay With Me (brass bed)" and "We Weren't Crazy." I have always stayed a Josh Gracin fan and I can't wait to see him perform live! I know that all of these artist will be so fun/exciting to see and it is nice that it won't cost an arm and a leg to go to these shows. I went to The Rock to see David Nail and even though the Nightclub is very small and a little run-down it is still a fun atmosphere. Let me know if you have gone to any shows at this venue.

Jimmy Wayne Concert at The Rock in Minnesota
Jimmy Wayne will be performing at The Rock in Maplewood, MN on March 6th at 8 pm!! I have loved Jimmy Wayne since 2003 when he released his first single "Stay Gone." Since then Jimmy Wayne has released great singles like "I Love You This Much," "You Are," "Paper Angel," "I Will," "Sara Smile" and my personal favorite "Do You Believe Me Now." I was a little shocked to find out that Jimmy Wayne was performing in such a small venue because of all the success he has had in the past years. I am excited that he is playing at The Rock though because it will feel like a personal performance like it did when I saw David Nail at The Rock. You get to be so close to the performers and they interact with the audience because the place is so small. Even if you only like one or two of Jimmy Wayne's songs I would still suggest that you go to this concert at The Rock because it isn't expensive and it is a lot of fun to see a concert at this bar! I haven't seen Jimmy Wayne in concert before so I don't know how he is as a performer but I do know that he has a great voice! If you have seen Jimmy Wayne in concert please let me know what you thought about it.
"Do You Believe Me Now"
Do you remember the day I turned to you and said
I didn't like the way he was lookin' at you?
yeah
How he made you laugh
you just couldn't get what I was sayin'
it was my imagination
(Chorus)
So do you believe me now?
I guess I really wasn't that crazy
and I knew what I was talkin' about
Everytime the sun goes down
he's the one that's holdin' you baby
yeah me I'm missin' you way 'cross town
so do you believe me now?
I'm kickin' myself
for bein' the one foolish enough givin' him the chance to step in my shoes
ohhh
He was bidin' his time
when he saw our love was havin' a moment of weakness
he was there between us
(Chorus)
So do you believe me now?
I guess I really wasn't that crazy
and I knew what I was talkin' about
Everytime the sun goes down
he's the one that's holdin' you baby
yeah me I'm missin' you way 'cross town
so do you believe me now?
oh yeah, I bet now you see the light
oh yeah, what's the use in bein' right...
when I'm the lonely one tonight?
(Chorus)
So do you believe me now?
I guess I really wasn't that crazy
and I knew what I was talkin' about
Everytime the sun goes down
he's the one that's holdin' you baby
yeah me I'm missin' you way 'cross town
so do you believe me now
yeah
so do you believe me now
yeah
Everytime the sun goes down
he's the one that's holdin' you baby
yeah me I'm missin you way 'cross town
so do you believe me now?

Jeff Foxworthy Tour
Jeff Foxworthy is the best selling comedy recording artist of all time and he is currently on tour! In 1990, Jeff Foxworthy received the award for "Best Stand-Up Comic" at the American Comedy Awards and he has not slowed down since. Not only has most of Jeff Foxworthy's albums gone multi-platinum but Jeff Foxworthy tickets have been selling out venues for many many years! Jeff Foxworthy became most famous for his "You know your redneck if..." one liners. In 2000, Jeff Foxworthy's career got a new jump start when he became part of the Blue Comedy Tour with Bill Engvall, Larry the Cable Guy and Ron White. I am so excited that Jeff Foxworthy will be coming to Mystic Lake Casino on February 27th! I have always wanted to see one of his shows live and now I will get a chance too! Jeff Foxworthy will also have a show at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahomen, MN on February 26th. Let me know if you have been to one of his shows and what you thought of it.
Not only does Jeff Foxworthy do "You Know Your Redneck If..." jokes he also has "You Might Live In Minnesota If...." jokes!

Josh Thompson's CD Release Show in Minnesota
Josh Thompson is a very new country artist who is already making a big name for himself. Josh Thompson released his first country single in September of '09 titled "Beer on the Table." "Beer on the Table" has easily became one of my favorite country songs to party too! Not only is it a great song but you get the chance to here how good Josh Thompson voice is. Josh Thompson's first album, Way Out Here, will be released on February 23rd at The Cabooze in Minneapolis. For only $10 you get the chance to see Josh Thompson perform at a very fun venue and you also get a copy of his album! I can't wait to go back to The Cabooze again to watch another amazing up and coming country star. If you don't have anything going on I highly suggest coming to The Cabooze to check out this awesome bar/stage and to hear Josh Thompson perform "Beer on the Table" live. "Beer on the Table"- Josh Thompson
Every morning I get up before that rooster crows
Heading straight to somewhere I don’t even want to go
Eggs and bacon in my belly and a Folger’s coffee buzz
Good ol’ radar detector it protects me from the fuzz
Well, I do what I gotta do to get through working that 9 to 5
It’s killing me but then again it’s keeping me alive
It puts the gas in my truck, butter on my biscuit,
couple bucks when I’m itching for a scratch-off ticket
That poker makes me broker every Saturday night
But I still got running water and they ain’t cut off the lights
Come Friday night, My friends and I start peeling off them labels
Working hard all week puts beer on the table
Eighteen bucks an hour and a million dollar tan
All them women whistle at me while I’m working for the man
Making me some cold hard cash out in that summer sun
Come Friday I’ll have money but by Monday I’ll have none
Once the bills are paid and that bass boat tank has gone from E to F
I fill that big ol’ cooler up there ain’t a whole lot left
But I got gas in my truck, butter on my biscuit,
couple bucks when I’m itching for a scratch-off ticket
That poker makes me broker every Saturday night
But I still got running water and they ain’t cut off the lights
Come Friday night, my friends and I start peeling off them labels
Working hard all week puts the beer on the table
Oh, oh, I’m a simple man, yes I am
All I need is a few good friends and a good job,
And a good dog, maybe a woman that understands
And a little gas in my truck, some butter on my biscuit,
A couple bucks when I’m itching for a scratch-off ticket
That poker makes me broker every Saturday night
But I still got running water and they ain’t cut off the lights
Come Friday night, my friends and I start peeling off them labels
Working hard all week, yeah, puts the beer on the table
Ho! Ha! Puts the beer on the table
Would y'all pass me another one of them cold cans?

American Idol Country Music Artists
I am so excited for the new American Idol season to start tonight! I love the beginning of the season because you get to see all the funny/horrible singers. The thing I love most about American Idol is all of the great country artists that have been discovered on the show like:
Kelly Clarkson-
I know Kelly Clarkson isn't known as a country singer but she did have a hit country song thanks to Reba McEntire. Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire sang "Because of You" together and then went on tour together. I got the chance to see the 2 Worlds 2 Voices tour when it came to the Target Center. Kelly Clarkson did a great job covering all of Reba McEntires famous country songs.
Josh Gracin-
Josh Gracin was on the 2nd season of American Idol and right away became one of my favorite country artists. Josh Gracin's country singles that were released are "I Want to Live," "Nothing to Lose," "We Weren't Crazy" and my favorite "Stay With Me (Brass Bed)."
Bucky Covington-
Bucky Covington was on the 5th season of American Idol. Bucky Covington released his first album on April 17, 2007 and it debut #1 on the U.S. Billboard Top Country Albums. Bucky Convington has had great country singles like "A Different World," "I'll Walk" and "It's Good To Be Us." Bucky Covington will be releasing a new album in Spring 2010.
Danny Gokey-
Danny Gokey was on the last season of America Idol. He just released his 1st single to country radio stations called "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me." I have a feeling his album, My Best Days, will be a huge success
Kelly Pickler-
Kelly Pickler stole the hearts of all Americans during the 5th season of American Idol. With her bubbly personality and the sad story of her childhood you knew she would be a huge success. Kelly Pickler released her first album, Small Town Girl, in 2006 and it was certified Gold. Her second album, Kellie Pickler, was also a huge success. Her country singles include "Red High Heels," "Things That Never Cross a Mans Mind," "Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You," "I Wonder," "Don't You Know You're Beautiful" and "Best Days of Your Life." Kelly Pickler is currently touring with Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift and Kelly Pickler will be at the Xcel Energy Center on May 7th and tickets are still available.
Carrie Underwood-
Carrie Underwood is by far the most successful artist to come out of American Idol. Carrie Underwood's first album, Some Hearts, has been certified 7x platinum. Some Hearts was also the #1 selling album for 2006 in all genres and was the best selling debut album by a solo female country music artist in history. Her second album, Carnival Ride, was 2x ceritified Platinum and her 3rd album, Play On, debut at #1. Carrie Underwood's amazing country songs include "Jesus, Take the Wheel," "Some Hearts," "Don't Forget to Remember Me," "before He Cheats," "Wasted," "All-American Girl," "So Small," "Just a Dream," "Last Name," "I Told You So," "Cowboy Casanova" and "Temporary Home." Carrie Underwood is headlining a tour this year and I really hope she makes a stop in Minnesota because I would love to see her in concert!
"My Best Days Are Ahead of Me"-Danny Gokey
Blowing out the candles
on another birthday cake
Old enough to look back and laugh at my mistakes
Young enough to look at the future and like what I see
My best days are ahead of me
Life hasn't always been a party
but mostly it's been good
There's only one or two things that I'd change if I could
I dont get lost in the past or get stuck in some sad memory yah
My best days are ahead of me
Age is nothing but a number
Sometimes I have to wonder
What does it really mean
But heeeey im still putting it together
I keep getting better
if I keep getting better
I can be whatever I want to be
My best days are ahead of me
Age is nothing but a number
Sometimes I have to wonder
What does it really mean
But heeeey im still putting it together
I keep getting better
if I keep getting better
I can be whatever I want to be
My best days are ahead of me
I've got sunsets to witness
dreams to dance with
beaches to walk on
and lovers to kiss
there's a whole lot of world out there
that I can't wait to see
My best days are ahead of me
My best days are ahead of me

Country Band of the Decade
After writing my list of best country songs of the decade I starting thinking about who was my favorite country band of the decade. It took me about 30 seconds to come up with the answer...Rascal Flatts! Rascal Flatts accomplished so much in the 2000's and released a lot of amazing music! I know there are millions of country fans that love Rascal Flatts just as much as I do and the main reason is because of all their great songs they have sang in the past 10 years...
Rascal Flatts(2000)-has sold 2,303,000 copies
"Prayin' For Daylight"
"This Everyday Love"
"While You Loved Me"
"I'm Movin' On"
Melt(2002)-has sold 3,073,000 copies
"These Days"
"I Melt"
"Mayberry"
"Love You Out Loud"
Feels Like Today(2004)-has sold 5,149,000 copies
"Feels Like Today"
"Bless the Broken Road"
"Fast Cars and Freedom"
"Skin"
"Here's To You"
Me and My Gang-has sold 4,796,000 copies
"Stand"
"What Hurts the Most"
"I Feel Bad"
"My Wish"
"Me and My Gang"
Still Feels Good
"Take Me There"
"Here"
"Bob That Head"
"Winner at a Losing Game"
"Everyday"
"She Goes All the Way"
Unstoppable(2009)-has sold 1,030,796 copies
"Here Comes Goodbye"
"Summer Nights"
"Why"
Another reason fans love Rascal Flatts so much is because they put on an unbelievable concert. I have been lucky enough to see them three times in concert and I would love to see them many more times! Rascal Flatts has headlined 6 major tours which were:
I Melt(2002-2003)
Here's to You(2004-2005)
Me and My Gang(2006-2007)
Still Feels Good(2007-2008)
Bob That Head(2008-2009)
American Living Unstoppable(2009-2010)
From 2001-2005 Rascal Flatts made $26.3 million and sold 777,384 tickets. In 2006, they made $46.2 million with their tour and sold over a million tickets. In 2007, Rascal Flatts made $34 million and sold 588,009 tickets. I know that Rascal Flatts won't be going anywhere anytime soon. I can't wait to hear all the songs they release in the future and see them in concert anytime they come to Minnesota!
